Recruitment Process

 

If you want to become a member of our staff, you need to know our recruitment process:

 

  1. Spartan receives the candidate’s CV.
  2. The CV is screened internally by Human Resources to ensure that selection, competency and experiential criteria are appropriate.
  3. The applicant is forwarded the following documents which need to be completed in full and returned to Spartan:
    • Company application form
    • Pre-Interview Form
    • A Consent and Indemnity form
  4. The returned forms are perused and the applicants who are short listed are invited for a screening interview with line management
  5. If the applicant is successful, the application will progress to a second interview, conducted by the relevant Line Manager, as well as by Human Resources. This second interview is an in-depth review of the candidate’s career history, experience, and career achievements.
  6. Thereafter, the candidate will proceed to a third interview with the line manager, CEO, and Human Resources.
  7. If the application is for a non-managerial role, and the applicant is successful through this third interview, the applicant’s references will be checked, and an offer of employment will be made.
  8. Should the application be for a managerial role, the applicant will proceed to a fourth interview. In preparation for this interview, the applicant is given an assignment / project to prepare for presentation to a panel, and Psychometric testing may be arranged.
  9. Should the application be successful through this phase, the applicant’s final and most recent referees are contacted with the candidate’s permission and an offer of employment will be negotiated.
  10. All new employees spend the first week to 2 weeks of their employment in the “On boarding” process which allows them to engage in all facets of the business and spend time with managers and employees, familiarising themselves with Spartan’s way of life. This process purposefully ensures that new employees quickly integrate in the work environment, understand how their role contributes to the business and are equipped to perform to their full potential as soon as possible, so that the employee and the company mutually start to reap the benefits of the relationship and employment is rewarding both the employee and the company.
